PRESS COVERAGE: Pavilion project boost through sixes tournament (7th July 2018)

Published in The Hampshire Chronicle on 7th July 2018.

THE Pavilion Project teamed up with The Racqueteers cricket club to host a sixes tournament on North Walls Recreation Ground last Sunday.

The group, which is fundraising for a new pavilion at North Walls, invited teams from local businesses to take part in the day so that they could learn more about The Pavilion Project and the benefits of sponsoring the building.

Three other teams took part in the event, from Moore Blatch, Savills and Rathbones.

Speaking about the project, co-ordinator Mike Caldwell said: “The new pavilion at North Walls represents an excellent opportunity for business sponsorship; the building will be in use all-year-round by a variety of sports and non-sports groups and is located in a key city centre location with high footfall and visibility.

“The new pavilion, designed by local architects AR Design, has the potential for positive brand association through entering the stunning new building for national architecture awards, too.”

On Sunday, the cricketers were treated to a lunch next to the existing pavilion, cooked by amateur chef Hamid Al-Mukhtar who specialises in middle Eastern cuisine.

The Pavilion Project is currently running a crowdfunding campaign, which has passed the half-way mark of its £5,000 target.

To support it, visit The Pavilion Project’s website at www.thepavilionproject.com and follow the link to the crowdfunding page.
