Double your money for The Pavilion Project!

We hope that you will have already heard about The Pavilion Project.

We’re a community group (and registered charity), working with local architects, AR Design Studio, to replace the dilapidated cricket pavilion at North Walls Recreation Ground - Winchester’s “Central Park”. We’ve had a lot of publicity over the past year; in the local press, TV news and also the national architectural press.

The Pavilion Project’s aim is to raise enough funds to build a pavilion to be used not just by the district’s cricket community for only five months of the year, but rather all-year-round by cricket and other sports, and by community groups and local schools, too. We received planning consent for the proposed building earlier this year.

Winchester City Council has allocated funds for a new pavilion; Sport England have made a substantial grant, and we’ve already raised over £20,000 from the Winchester community - from whom we have terrific support for the project (over £5000 was raised in three weeks during this summer’s crowdfunding campaign!). We’re now at a little over 60% of funds required to make our vision a reality.

We’ve just received some more good news. A charitable trust with strong Hampshire connections has pledged £20,000 to our cause, to be match-funded by donations from local businesses or local branches of national businesses. So we’re asking for donations of between £500 and £1000; these donations will immediately be doubled in value which will be a huge boost to our fundraising campaign, taking us to nearly 70% of our goal.

Can you please support us? Your company will be recognised on our website and on social media; your company’s name will appear on a Sponsors Board taking permanent pride of place in the new pavilion – and you’ll be invited to a high profile opening event once the pavilion is built.

Please find more information on our website and take a look at the impressive CGI fly-through of the new pavilion; there’s also a downloadable PDF which gives a short introduction to The Pavilion Project.

If you’d like to donate, we’d love to hear from you; please contact mike@thepavilionproject.com .

And, of course, if you would like to consider sponsoring the project with a greater sum – such as sponsoring the central communal hub, a changing-room wing, the kitchen etc. - we’d be delighted to discuss this further.

Many thanks from The Pavilion Project team!

The Winchester Pavilion Project is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, registration number 1174942. The Charity Commission requires us to tell donors what we will do with their donations in the event that the appeal for the new Pavilion does not reach its target or otherwise fails. In that event, we will offer all identifiable donors the return of their donation. Anonymous donations and donations whose return donors decline, together with all The Pavilion Project’s other assets, will then be donated to another registered charity or CASC whose aims include benefit to the public through the provision of sporting facilities.
